UPDATES From time to time we will add information, comments and suggestions to this teacher’s guide. Please check back! Also, we have posted here any corrections we have found in the text. Look for them in red. **NOTE ON WEB ADDRESSES We also offer, in many cases, the addresses for websites where we have found relevant information or images. This is only to help jumpstart your research, when needed. This does NOT imply that we endorse the website or its content. It also does NOT indicate that we have read every part of the website, nor verified its content. You must decide for your self if a particular site has accurate and appropriate content. This will always depend on the goals of your lesson. Please also note that websites change constantly and this list is updated only periodically. It was last updated in December, 2007. WEB SEARCHES IN SPANISH Typically, any search engine will return results in Spanish if the search terms are in Spanish. However, if the search term is a place name or the name of a person, or another phrase that is common in both English and Spanish, the search results may be predominantly in English, if searching from the US or Canada. A few tricks to get more results in Spanish: 1) Specify the language of the search. You can often do this using the “advanced search” function, or something similar. 2) add a Spanish word to your search terms 3) Use a Spanish language search engine. This will expose your students to new search engines and research possibilities, as well as more content in Spanish.
